A Touch Of Christmas

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year - Edward Pola & George Wyle, Barnaby Music Corp.
Les' arrangement added the sweet lift that made this one a buoyant skip in the park.

Silent Night, Holy Night - Joseph Mohr and Franz Gruber, Traditional
This always whisks me back to my teens and my first days in the church choral room where I was discovering both God and the voice gift He gave me.

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! - Sammy Cahn & Jule Styne Warner Chappell Music Inc.
This always hit me as being "a movie" song. I always forget the movie, but singing it always puts me right there on the big screen.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Hugh Martin & Ralph Blane, EMI April Music Publishing
It always rings 'Judy Garland' in my ear when I sing it. I even feel like I'm 'cheating' sometimes.

Silver Bells - Raymond B. Evans & Jay Livingston, Sony ATV Harmony
This was Andy Williams' favorite. And, like Hope's "Winter Wonderland", I was Andy's Christmas S.B. person most of the time.

Baby It's Cold Outside - Frank Loesser, MPL Communications, Inc.
Truth is; the plan was to record this with my husband, Marty Ingels, who doesn't fly ... equals = no come to Branson ... equals = no husband duet. So, enter ever sweet and talented Tony Orlando (my husband has not been heard from since).

O Holy Night - John S. Dwight & Adolphe Adam, Traditional
As often as I've sung it, the one snuck up and surprised me; the classic arrangement sounding much like a Mozart original.

The Christmas Song - Mel Torme & Robert Wells, Sony/ATV Tunes, LLC
I was right there with Mel Torme when he ground it out. So, I get a special feeling of 'privilege' when I sing it.

Edelweiss - Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II, Williamson Music Company
For all the times I did "Sound of Music," I never got to sing this song (it's the Captain's). Nice to get to now.

Winter Wonderland - Richard B. Smith & Felix Bernard Warner Chappell Music Inc.
It was Bob Hope's favorite ... and I sang it both times I guested on his Christmas specials.

A Touch of Christmas - Les Brown, Jr, Carol Raczka, Pat L. Patterson - Crystal Music
One of the only two original Christmas songs on this collection ... this one co-written by my good friend Pat Patterson (whom I never knew wrote lyrics).

White Christmas - Irving Berlin Music Company
Like most people, I'm sure, these musical words go back the longest and seem more like ingrained phrases we always knew. I'm 9 years old when I sing them.
