How this CD was created...
Matt Jordan first did considerable research, giving serious thought to the market he was seeking. He decided on smooth jazz, which has blossomed all over the country.
He then wrote original melodies to twelve songs. He brought six of them, one at a time, in cassette and music form to friends Robert Lustgarten and Wayne Baratta who helped add chords and lyrics.
Matt had a sound in mind he was going for, and visited several studios. When he visited Len Post, at Hickory Street studio, Len played some of his material, and Matt instantly loved the sound. He also loved five songs Len co-wrote with Don Harris, former Tower of Power trumpet player, and Matt worked out a co-publishing agreement with them. He used four of the songs, and added one song from Gregg Hollister, original singer I bass player in Matt Jordan Futurband with Wells Kelly, “Orleans.”
Matt looked at numerous cover songs to select one. The CD’s title track is the remarkable cover tune of Peabo Bryson’s, “Let the Feeling Flow,” whose name captures the feeling and emotion which inspired each of the twelve songs.
Matt then spent two weeks listening to over fifty successful recording artists. He selected Kelli Sae, who he felt was perfect for the mellow, smooth, sultry sound he was going for. He then worked six months with the arrangers, studio, engineer, other musicians, vocals, several weeks of mixing, graphics, etc, seeking perfection. He wanted to be a part of all that had to be done to transfer that sound he had in mind, to a sound that is now on a master.
