The Dreamer

If you've known me long, you know that I could always sing. Growing up in Butte, Montana with a jazz musician for a father and a singer for a mother. Jazz is what we heard in our house growing up. Of course, I rebelled against that and sang rock-n-roll and even country in my teens and 20's. It took moving to the east coast to New Hampshire and discovering and listening to the Ella Fitzgerald songbook albums in a wonderful cottage overlooking Squam Lake to bring me back to jazz.
Although that was a few years ago now, I still consider myself a beginner in studying this art form. Each of the songs on this CD holds a special place in my heart. They represent for me the ups and downs in life and love. The longing one can feel for love, yet push it away or even run from it when it appears. I wanted to thank and honor the wonderful writers of these songs as well as the great singers who have recorded them before. Each of the musicians on this recording contributed their own special, magical energy and artistry that is priceless. Mark Shilansky-Thank you for always going beyond the call of duty. Peter Kontrimas-You're the best!
Jazz and Blues music continues to excite and enrich my life daily. I am so thankful that I found my way back. To you who would listen, thank you. I'm singing to you.
