The Child I Was

My fondest childhood memories are those of Christmas. I love the aromas, the sounds, the tastes and most of all...the magic of the season.
I remember as a little girl getting the first hints that Christmas was coming. Mom would start getting the holiday cookie cutters out, in shapes of reindeer, Santa and stars. The kitchen would be filled with the sweet smell of hot chocolate steaming on the stove and cookies baking in the oven. Dad would bring in freshly-cut pine boughs to fill the house with the scent of the upcomingYuletide festivities. And, my sister and I would sneak Iicks of peppermint sticks and spoonfuls of raw cookie dough.
I remember happily sitting alongside my Mom watching her play the piano and listening to her singing Christmas carols - this is my fondest memory of all. Everywhere we went there were squeals of laughter and giggles from children, Santas ringing bells on street corners and Christmas music spilling out of all the churches, being sung by carolers, and playing in department stores. I remember it as if it were yesterday.
I just love Christmas! I love the snow, the roar of the fireplace, the swish of holiday dresses, fuzzy slippers, the scent of pine, roast turkey, the joy of giving, and most of all the holiness of the season. Each and every year I relive the magic of childhood.
Ever since I was little I've wanted to record a Christmas album. The songs warm my heart like no others. With this CD I wanted to bring together all the aromas, tastes, sounds and magic of my youth and share them with all of you so that we may all enjoy the innocence of the season. For with innocence comes purity and with purity comes unconditional love and that's what the Christ Child came to give all of us. Love... plain and simple, no strings attached.
If we do nothing else in this life we've been given, it's that we are called to spread the Good News of the Christ Child, celebrate His love and give back that which He has so greatly given. So sing, laugh, love, and give as if it were Christmas everyday! This is my wish for all of you. Merry Merry Christmas !!! .
