That Thing Called Love

   Karen Egert is a seasoned vocalist that has entertained audiences with jazz standards and her original music in diverse venues in the United States and Europe. She has captivated listeners with her rich and sultry voice in jazz clubs, cabarets, restaurants, and hotels.        
   Karen had a steady engagement for five years at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, where she played on Cole Porter's piano in the Peacock Alley Lounge. She has entertained in New York City at the Iridium Jazz Club, Danny's Skylight, S.P.Q.R. Cabaret and at Shanghai Jazz, New Jersey's premier jazz venue. She has also been the opening act for Motown's "The Temptations" and a host of other groups.
   In addition to jazz, Karen's other credits include the Broadway musical, "Rock 'n Roll - The First 5000 Years." In this show, produced by Dick Clark and directed by Joe Layton, Karen played the principal role of Cher. She also was the lead vocalist for The Flirts, a female pop recording group that had a hit song and video entitled, "Don't Put Another Dime in the Jukebox."
   Karen's most recent recording is entitled, "Let's Get Lost." This album features ger original material, together with a special jazz selection that highlights her unique style and interpretations. Karen's talents extend beyond singing. She is an accomplished pianist and songwriter as noted by her two songs on her CD, "Wait Until I'm Through with You" and "Please Go Away."
