This orchestral collection of songs from Celtic Thunder is purely my personal choice. How well I remember sitting in front of the piano at the very start of the Celtic Thunder project and asking myself, "Where do I even begin?"
   That was many moons and many songs ago and there have been changes and a few surprises along the way. As I've said more than once, it's been a hell of a ride! Most of the songs here are my own compositions because that's the part of the work I enjoyed most.
   Whatever about the satisfaction, in every show, of matching just the right classic song with each of the characters, for a songwriter there is no thrill like the thrill of creating something brand new.
   During my brief stints 'on the road' as Musical Director, I really enjoyed the extra buzz of seeing first hand how those songs connected with the Celtic Thunder audience. Happy days, indeed. To have the opportunity to revisit that material and hear those melodies breathe and soar through the orchestra has been a joy from beginning to end.
   I hope you approve of my choices and that you'll maybe enjoy hearing one of your favourites in a different guise - like meeting an old friend in a new suit of clothes!
